Sorry for the rant.this is even more frustrating for me since I had a very similar problem with the install of the original version that I am now trying to upgrade from! In fact, that installation fiasco consistently failed because, (we learned at the end of the process,) there was a copy of HSM Express on my computer. Why, for the love of god, can they not simply FIX the kinks in their install process? They are clearly aware of the problem since they offer a road-map for their customers to fix it for them! It just seems that a company which has been around as long as Autodesk has would be a little more sophisticated by now.

After which, I can actually test to see if it software itself functions properly! All of which I can do.but should not have to IMO. So in summary to make Autodesk's software installation process function, I have to be fluent enough in 'computer' to modify my registry, uninstall their software, AND, be certain to back up any customizations and settings before their upgrade will properly install.
